According to unofficial figures, 274 people died of dengue in the Punjab, of which 251 deaths occurred in Lahore.

According to official reports, 174 new cases of dengue were reported in Punjab, 128 in Lahore.
Authorized numbers place the full end toll to 268 in Punjab, of which 237 have been reported in Lahore.
The total figure of citizenry infected with dengue fever has exceeded 118,600, of which 15,893 are from Lahore.
Campaign versus dandy fever Shahbaz
In an attempt to fight against dengue virus in the future, Prime Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has made the campaign of cleanliness and dengue helpline a permanent part of health program while chairing a meeting on anti-dengue campaign in Lahore, the Chief Minister placed great emphasis on the effective training of doctors.
The Secretary of Health informed the Chief Minister about the current situation of the epidemic in the province and the measures taken to counter it.
Shahbaz Sharif said more than five cell separator machines were installed in Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Shahbaz also directed the Secretary food to make appropriate arrangements for cleanliness in the attempt to control dengue.
He directed the departments of health and Department of Education to take the requirement steps to counter dengue.
Shahbaz Sharif said all effective measures are taken to control the explosion of the disease in the next season.
