Chicago Public Schools officials started to the public Wednesday for what may come in Dec when they decide what schools will be closed, consolidated or turned.
At the conforming to of the Board of Education, Oliver Sicat, the new district chief portfolio officer, told there's a correlation between bad performing schools and school buildings underused. CPS officials said they rely on academic achievement as the main factor that determines the redesign of schools, but the use of facilities will also be taken into account.
"What this may mean is that our parents vote with their feet," said Sicat.
